NEW GOLDEN MILE
The New Golden Mile is the stretch between San Pedro in Marbella and the East part of Estepona. The beaches along the New Golden Mile are notorious for its fine golden sand and the clear waters of the Mediterranean lapping gently along the shore, hence the name of the area.
The New Golden Mile has evolved over the past couple of decades and as many of the resorts along the Costa del Sol; it is divided into two geographical areas: a beachside and a hillside location and offers a variety of complexes and residential areas to cater for all budgets and likes
The development of this area was carefully planned, without any high-rise constructions and respecting the environment, nothing was built too close to the shore, thus making it a sought after area to buy property.
On the beachfront area of the New Golden Mile, we find fantastic quality developments like Costalita, Cabo Bermejo, Torre Bermeja and Hacienda del Sol, which are very popular amongst Northern European buyers and provide wonderful homes for permanent living or holidays.
On the hillside of the coastal road, we find other well-established areas known as Atalaya, Bel-Air, Benavista, Benamara, El Paraiso and the village of La Cancelada offering several new developments. These are very popular locations because they have many amenities, including bars, restaurants, supermarkets and shops.
The golf courses include El Paraiso, and Atalaya which are surrounded by quality villas and apartments many of which have stunning views towards the coast.
Los Flamingos, which is an exclusive, gated, private, luxury residential development, sits behind the New Golden Mile. The Villa Padierna Palace Hotel is found within the urbanisation where residents can enjoy the fine dining, excellent golf and luxury spa.
Situated to the west of Marbella and Nueva Andalucía, Guadalmina is another favourite residential area for golfers. The range of spectacular villas and other frontline golf properties, plus its proximity to San Pedro Alcántara, which boasts a cosmopolitan array of restaurants and family entertainment, makes Guadalmina an excellent residential choice, and its golf course and clubhouse is known for its welcoming atmosphere. The nearby Marbella Club Golf Resort is not only one of the more exclusive clubs, it also lies within a short driving distance of La Zagaleta and its outstanding residences. In addition, golf properties in this area are also well located for enjoying the pleasures of dining out in Benahavís, the culinary heart of the Costa del Sol.
The New Golden Mile appeals to families and retired people alike because of its location and for being situated less than 10 minutes' drive to buzzy Marbella and the more traditional Estepona.
The New Golden Mile is home to several new developments and is not fully consolidated yet in some areas. There are mixes of beachside luxury complexes and holiday resorts as well as very established residential areas of villas, apartments and townhouses
